The Sega Saturn is a 32-bit fifth-generation home video game console that was developed by Sega and released on May 11, 1995, in North America as the successor to the Sega Genesis. Its games are in the CD-ROM format, and its game library contains several arcade ports as well as original titles. The Saturn, although initially successful in Japan, is considered a commercial failure overall, making many of the most popular games very expensive, since they are rear by nature and usually only attract collectors.
